kroma crackle

adventures between the cracks

a patchwork canvas of cracks

From colour to white and back to colour again.

I started with a 12″ x12″ stretched canvas and brushed on a green background with acrylic colours.Image

I made rows of triangles with orange tinted crackle using masking tape to form the shapes.ImageI gessoed over the surface, then sanded them back to show some of the colour.  Then I added more blocks of tinted crackle

I applied another layer of gesso and sanded back again.

Then I added watercolour washes on top.

Some closeups showing details.

The canvas is like a little library of crackle colour combinations.
