kroma crackle

adventures between the cracks

time flies – crackle and stamps

I decided it was time to get crafty and use crackle to make a background and embellishments for a stamping project.

I cut wings from Lutrador mixed media fabric which had been given a coat of raw titanium acrylic paint and untinted crackle.

I used a punch to cut paper circles with gold backgrounds and blue and turquoise tinted crackle. This was the start for the colour scheme.

I chose Harlequin from Indigoblu, for a background, and stamped onto card painted with raw titanium acrylic paint. I added a layer of tinted crackle on top of part of the stamped image.  I stamped pocket watches from Indigoblu’s Take the time set using black ink and silver embossing powder on white and light blue paper. I cut them out using scissors, pairing plain watch faces with embossed watch cases.

I added a little colour using Copic brushtip markers to add shading to the wings and colour to the diamond background.I put it all together with clear acrylic medium and mounted it onto a canvas backing.

A first foray into the world of stamping –  Time flies with new art supplies!
